PerĂą: giornale chiama i sacerdoti sposati diavoli.

E’ capitato che io fossi in Perù in quel momento e andai all’udienza.

To the United Nations Commission on Human Rights
Greetings:
I want to present to you a brief summary of the immense violations of our Human Rights in Latin America by the Roman Catholic Church, particularly in Colombia and Peru; and more particularly in Chiclayo, Peru. Let me begin by pointing out that there is a very long history of Human Rights violations by the RCC beginning back at the arrival of the first Spaniard Missionaries to Latin America. Although this has improved, it is fairly common for those who challenge the RCC to find their Human Rights violated and in some cases their lives taken. This is very public knowledge in Latin America, although hard for those outside Latin America to believe.
My first experience of this was in Chiclayo, Peru in the summer of 2003 when we were suddenly told by the School who had agreed to host an ordination that they had been told by the Ministry of Education that to allow this ordination was to mean the suspension of their Teaching License. Further that to allow this ordination was to mean their public utilities would all be disconnected. Soon after that the legal persecutions began. We have been taken to court 13 times by the Roman Catholic Bishop of Chiclayo and are now before the Supreme Court of Peru. We have won every time except when evidently a friend of Bishop Jesus Moline was the presiding judge and she sentenced our Clergy to two years in jail. That craziness was overturned December 28, 2006. However, just last week they were back in court again seeking that our Clergy be arrested and sentenced to jail.
It is very hard to believe that the legal system in Peru is not run by the Law but by the RCC. When we have filed petitions against them, the petitions have been summarily dismissed. In November of 2003 the General of the National Police of Peru stationed in Chiclayo issued a Decree stating that the Human Rights of our Clergy had been suspended. He did not reference a law when doing this, since there is no such law. To the contrary, the Peruvian Constitution upholds Human Rights for all. Finally we were able to convince the Public Prosecutor to step in and demand this decree be retracted, which it was. (Documentation enclosed)
Although much of what we have experienced is Religious Persecution, we believe it also falls under the label of Human Rights’ Abuse since it is each person’s human right to a free practice of his/her religion. Even the Peruvian Constitution upholds this. We have been subjected to defamation, calumnies in the pulpits of the RCC; and in the Roman Catholic controlled Press. We have been called Devils, that we were taking advantage of the people, that we were false priests, that our Church did not exist (Documentation enclosed proving it does); that I did not exist, that my consecration was not valid nor our sacraments valid. All this is lies. Further they have excommunicated our people even thought they do not belong to the RCC. It is like one factory firing the employees of another factory. All this is done to intimidate and mislead the people.
They went so far as to try and trap us by having the lawyer of Bishop Moline ask our Bishop there to baptize his grandson. This was video taped and then presented in court against us. I happened to be in Peru at the time and went to the hearing. The judge asked me to come forward. She asked me who was the head of our Church in the world. I told her I was. She asked me if we were in any way a part of the RCC. I said no. She then asked me why the RCC was bringing this suit against members of another Church. I told her I did not understand why. She then said she did not believe there was a case, but had to hold the hearing because her superior judge had ordered her to.
A number of the priests who have joined our Church have lost their positions or jobs from the pressure the RCC put on their employers. This is clearly a Human Rights violation. I personally have tried to talk to the Papal Nuncio of Peru, Colombia and the United States, but have never been given an appointment. I even went to Rome to talk to the Cardinals there. Nothing has helped. A friend went to the Ambassador of Peru who said the RCC owns so much of Peru that the government there is indebted to them.
I have enclosed a large number of documents detailing different types of these violations of Human Rights. I, on behalf of our people in Latin America, particularly Peru, would deeply appreciate anything you can do to help alleviate these gross violations of our Human Rights.
Thanking you in advance for your help with this, I am
Most sincerely yours,
The Most Rev.
